One more day till the long-awaited press conference about our progress during Phase 2 (Heighten Alert). Hopefully, there will be some good news tomorrow, unlike the daily report today.

As of 12pm today (30 May), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 25 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

19 of them are community cases. Out of the community cases, 6 are unlinked.

The remaining 6 are imported cases.

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 62,028.

Based on yesterday’s figures, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 199 cases in the week before to 138 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased from 48 cases in the week before to 23 cases in the past week.

Unlinked Cases Reported on 29 May Include a Teacher & a Western Stall Cook

Yesterday (29 May), 33 cases were reported, and 23 of them are community cases.

Of the community cases, 4 of them are unlinked.

The first is a 40-year-old female Singaporean who works as a teacher at Rosyth School and was last in school on 18 May. She developed a blocked nose on 25 May, and a runny nose on 26 May, and sought medical treatment at a General Practitioner (GP) clinic on 26 May. She underwent both an antigen rapid test (ART) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test on 27 May, and was immediately isolated when her ART result came back positive on the same day. She also developed a fever on 27 May. Her PCR test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 28 May. Her serology test result is pending. The teacher is fully vaccinated, and had received her first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on 13 March, and the second dose on 3 April.

The second is a 49-year-old female Singaporean who works as an executive at Eng Soon Chair & Table Hire Service, and has been working from home. She developed a fever and sore throat on 23 May, and a cough on 25 May, but did not seek medical treatment until 27 May when she visited a GP clinic. She was tested for COVID-19 on 28 May, and her result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on the same day. Her serology test result is pending. She received her first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on 18 May.

The third is a 33-year-old male Malaysia national who works as a kitchen assistant at Hua Zai Eating House Pte Ltd. He developed loss of taste on 26 May and sought medical treatment at a GP clinic on 28 May, where he underwent both an ART and PCR test, and was immediately isolated when his ART result came back positive on the same day. His PCR test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 29 May. His serology test result is pending.

The last is a 23-year-old male Malaysia national who works as a cook at West Grill Station (Anchorvale). He developed a fever and headache on 28 May and sought medical treatment at a GP clinic on the same day, where he underwent both an ART and PCR test. His ART result came back negative, and he stayed at home while waiting for his PCR test result which came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 29 May. His serology test result is pending.

548 Active Cases

There are currently 226 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 3 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

322 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

32 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
