Guess what? There are over 250 COVID-19 cases today and over 110 unlinked cases, but to some people, it’s Saturday.

As of 12pm today (4 Sep), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 259 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

253 of them are locally transmitted cases, and 116 of them are currently unlinked.

Based on yesterday’s number, the number of new cases in the community has increased from 484 cases in the week before to 1,020 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from 126 cases in the week before to 401 cases in the past week.

The 7-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 88.4 and 57.3 respectively.

New Cluster Identified on 3 Sep at Changi General Hospital (CGH)

No one knows why the coronavirus keeps visiting CGH, but a third cluster has popped up there.

Identified on 3 Sep, it has 11 new cases and a total of 14 infections. It’s the second active COVID-19 cluster linked to the hospital.

The other active CGH cluster, reported on 3 Aug, has four cases.

The first cluster, which has since been closed, was identified on 25 Jun. It had 20 cases.

580 Cases in Hospitals; 8,747,866 COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered

580 cases are currently warded in hospital. There are currently 20 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and 5 in critical condition in the ICU.

Of those who have fallen very ill, 19 are seniors above 60 years, of whom 11 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

As of yesterday, there are currently 59 active clusters, ranging between 3 and 1,155 infections.

As of 2 September 2021, we have administered a total of 8,747,866 doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme (Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty and Moderna), covering 4,522,530 individuals, with 4,344,810 individuals having completed the full vaccination regimen.

In addition, 169,254 doses of other vaccines recognised in the World Health Organization’s Emergency Use Listing (WHO EUL) have been administered as of 2 September 2021, covering 85,953 individuals.

In total, 80% of our population has completed their full regimen/ received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines, and 83% has received at least one dose.
