Tired of having to book slots in order to gain access to public sports facilities?

(This is starting to sound like a pharmaceutical advertisement.)

Well, now that the Disease Outbreak Response System Condition (DORSCON) has lowered from orange to yellow, there is no longer the need to fight for the limited slots at your local sport facilities.

Starting from 26 April, ActiveSG Swimming Complexes, Gyms, and Stadiums will allow walk-ins as long as they are open.

Just make sure that you have sufficient funds in your ActiveSG wallets, and that you have your NRIC or the QR Code from your ActiveSG application to gain admission at the turnsiles.

Opening Times for Sports Facilities

For Swimming Complexes, all swimming pools will remain open daily between 8:30am to 9:30pm, except MOE Evans Swimming Pool, which has its own schedule.

If you’re the type who prefers to swim in the freezing waters at the crack of dawn, you may refer to the schedule here to check the opening hours of your swimming pool.

For the most part, the ActiveSG swimming pools tend to open at 6:30am on alternate days except Sunday, and it’s best if you check with your local swimming complex about their opening times before deciding on a schedule.

All ActiveSG Gyms will remain open daily from 7am to 10pm, except the Bukit Batok and Kallang Basin branches which will close half an hour earlier.

For ActiveSG Stadiums, they will open daily from 4:30am to 9:30am. If the main gates happen to be closed, the stadium can be accessed through the side gates.

In the event that something occurs at a sports facility which results in its closure (like a clustered outbreak, maintenance or accident), you can refer to the Facilities Closure page for updated information.

Vaccinated-Differentiation Safety Management Measures?

Honestly, most of the Vaccinated-Differentiation Safety Management Measures (VDS) have been abandoned.

Safe distancing is no longer required regardless of the setting, there are no group size limits for sport activities, and TraceTogether and SafeEntry will no longer be necessary at ActiveSG-managed facilities.

However, mask wearing is still required in indoor settings unless strenuous exercise is involved, but masks are optional outdoors.

Users are still expected to comply with room/venue capacity restrictions and prevailing fire safety practices, but that’s common sense, so there’s no need to elaborate on that.

For sports events that have more than 500 participants at any one time, VDS measures, such as pre-event vaccination status checks, will still be in effect.

If you need more reasons why you shouldn’t delete your TraceTogether app just yet, you can let our trusty blue cat mascot explain it to you:

Booking Rules for Indoor Facilities

Hirers who book the facilities must be present in person and produce the receipt and proof of identity upon request.

It is mandatory for the hirer of the respective court/facility to be present during the time of play, and be part of the group of players on court.

Bookings are still non-transferrable.

All in all, we’re definitely moving back to pre-pandemic conditions, which is great.

Having to fight for slots and being placed under exercising time limits makes for a terrible experience, ugh. Thank goodness it’s over.
