Punggol residents who were gearing up for Ramly burgers and sweet potato balls: you might have to wait a little longer.

The pasar malam, or night market, that was scheduled to be held at Punggol MRT and Bus Interchange from 17 April to 2 May, is suddenly postponed.

According to a Facebook post by organiser TLK Events and Lighting, the Punggol pasar malam will be postponed till further notice.

This postponement is due to “unforeseen circumstances”, with no other details given.

Other Pasar Malams to Satisfy Your Cravings

According to Singapore Atrium Sale, people in Singapore can look forward to having pasar malams nearby again in these areas:

  • Ang Mo Kio Central (9-24 Apr 2022)
  • Clementi Central Blk 449 (13 Apr – 3 May 2022)
  • Tampines Blk 826 (7 – 22 May 2022)
  • Tanjong Pagar Plaza (9-13 May 2022 / 16 – 20 May 2022 / 23 – 27 May 2022)
  • Outside Tampines MRT (28 May – 16 Jun 2022)
  • Outside Sengkang MRT (18 Jun – 3 Jul 2022)

You don’t have to chiong for the first pasar malam happening in Singapore. With many scheduled for later and some that last till July, you can take your time to jalan jalan.

There are also ones that last all the way until July 2022, so you’re better off waiting for the excitement to die down before you attempt to brave the crowd.

Alternatively, you can try visiting the mother of all pasar malams: the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar.

Ramadan Bazaar at Geylang Serai, Woodlands

The Ramadan Bazaar at Geylang Serai has always been one of the main highlights of the year for the Muslim community. Staked out in dazzling and multi-coloured lights and the nostalgic scents wafting from street food stalls, it’s a foodie’s dream.

For two years, Singapore’s Malay and Muslim communities were unable to visit the bazaar due to COVID-19 constraints.

Thankfully, that didn’t happen this year and Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar 2022, as well as its counterpart, the Ramadan Souk market at Kampong Gelam, will operate until 1 May 2022.

There are also Ramadan bazaars in Woodlands starting from 15 and 16 April. BazaRia Marsiling will be located next to Woodlands MRT Station, operating from 10am to 10pm from 15 April to 2 May.

Bazar Untuk Rayat, or Bazaar for The People, will be located at Woodlands Sports Pavillion.

It’ll operate from 10am to 10pm, from 16 April to 1 May.
