Just for reference ah, we’ve only three community cases on 31 August 2020.

What year it has been.

As of 12pm today (31 Aug), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 161 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

156 of them are locally transmitted cases, and 79 of them are currently unlinked.

Based on yesterday’s number, the number of new cases in the community has increased from 240 cases in the week before to 723 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from 91 cases in the week before to 173 cases in the past week.

The 7-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 78.6 and 24.7 respectively.

Two New Clusters Reported Yesterday: Tampines Bus Interchange and Institute of Mental Health

The Tampines Bus Interchange cluster is said to have had four new cases yesterday. Its total tally currently stands at 11.

Apart from the Tampines Bus Interchange cluster, there were also confirmed clusters at the following sites:

  • Jurong East Bus Interchange
  • Clementi Bus Interchange
  • Punggol Bus Interchange
  • Toa Payoh Bus Interchange
  • Bishan Bus Interchange
  • Sengkang Bus Interchange
  • Boon Lay Bus Interchange

In total, 205 cases are linked to the bus interchange clusters.

Yesterday, LTA said that there 120 bus drivers had tested positive in the previous seven clusters.

Meanwhile, the Institute of Mental Health reported four cases yesterday. The total tally currently stands at six.

441 Cases in Hospitals; 8,684,484 COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered

441 cases are currently warded in hospital. There are currently 19 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and 5 in critical condition in the ICU.

Of those who have fallen very ill, 15 are seniors above 60 years, of whom 9 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

As of yesterday, there are currently 68 clusters, ranging between 3 and 1,155 infections.

As of 29 August 2021, we have administered a total of 8,695,034 doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme (Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty and Moderna), covering 4,507,685 individuals, with 4,309,977 individuals having completed the full vaccination regimen.

In addition, 166,142 doses of other vaccines recognised in the World Health Organization’s Emergency Use Listing (WHO EUL) have been administered as of 29 August 2021, covering 85,584 individuals.

In total, 80% of our population has completed their full regimen/ received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines, and 83% has received at least one dose.
