Well, if you’re hoping for COVID-19 numbers to drop today, we’re sorry to disappoint you.

As of 12pm today (6 Sep), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 241 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

235 of them are community infections, with 110 unlinked. The remaining six are imported cases.

Amongst the cases, six are seniors above 70 who is unvaccinated and is at risk of serious illness.

Based on yesterday’s number, the number of new cases in the community has increased from 634 cases in the week before to 1,233 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from 133 cases in the week before to 500 cases in the past week.

The 7-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 104.7 and 71.4 respectively.

Bus Interchange Clusters & CGH Cluster Continue to Grow

The good news is that no new clusters were identified yesterday. The bad news is that 15 of our existing clusters grew, including seven linked to staff working at bus interchanges.

They are:

  • Tampines Bus Interchange staff – two new cases, 35 in total
  • Boon Lay Bus Interchange staff – nine new cases, 113 in total
  • Clementi Bus Interchange staff – three new cases, 39 in total
  • Punggol Bus Interchange staff – one new case, 37 in total
  • Sengkang Bus Interchange staff – one new case, 27 in total
  • Bishan Bus Interchange staff – two new cases, 32 in total
  • Jurong East Bus Interchange staff – one new case, 36 in total

Our biggest bus interchange cluster remains the one linked to the staff at the Toa Payoh bus interchange; with 13 new cases, it now has 150 infections in total.

The Bugis Junction cluster also had ten new infections, bringing its total to 276 cases.

Meanwhile, six new cases were added to the Changi General Hospital cluster, which now has 46 cases.

With the closure of seven clusters, we now have 55 active clusters.

653 Cases in Hospitals; 8,783,111 COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered

653 cases are currently warded in hospital. There are currently 24 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and 5 in critical condition in the ICU.

Of those who have fallen very ill, 22 are seniors above 60 years, of whom 11 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

As of yesterday, there are currently 55 clusters, ranging between 3 and 1,155 infections.

As of 4 September 2021, we have administered a total of 8,783,111 doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme (Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty and Moderna), covering 4,531,281 individuals, with 4,370,515 individuals having completed the full vaccination regimen.

In addition, 170,577 doses of other vaccines recognised in the World Health Organization’s Emergency Use Listing (WHO EUL) have been administered as of 4 September 2021, covering 86,080 individuals.

In total, 81% of our population has completed their full regimen/ received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines, and 83% has received at least one dose.
