47 New Covid-19 Cases Reported Today (8 Sep); No New Community Cases

While it’s true that the number of new cases has more than doubled compared to yesterday, there’s still something to be happy about. Zero community cases.

Here’s the daily report card for Singapore’s Covid-19 situation and to be honest, it looks quite good.

As of 12pm on 8 Sep, the Ministry of Health (MOH) preliminarily reported 47 new Covid-19 cases.

There is one new imported case who have been placed on Stay-Home-Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

And based on their investigation so far, there are no new community cases.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Singapore to 57,091.

22 New Cases Reported on Monday (7 Sept)

Yesterday (7 Sept) was a good day.

I know I’ve said that in the past when we reported 300 infections after days of seeing over 1,000 infections, but yesterday really was a good day.

Only 22 new infections were reported, which is certainly something to celebrate considering the last time we recorded fewer than 25 new cases was on 22 March.

And that’s not all. There was only one case in the community, as well as three imported cases, all of whom had been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

3 Clusters Reported At Foreign Workers’ Dormitories

According to ST, 3 new clusters were reported in dormitories that were already cleared.

The includes Cassia @ Penjuru, which is linked to 13 Covid-19 cases, and CDPL Tuas Dormitory, which has 7 cases linked to it.

The third cluster reported was at Kranji Lodge I, which previously had five confirmed cases.

Many Shopping Malls Including Lucky Plaza & AMK Hub Visited By Covid-19 Cases

Seven shopping malls have been added to the list of public places visited by infectious Covid-19 cases in the community, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).

The shopping centres listed are VivoCity, Lucky Plaza, AMK Hub, Mustafa Centre, E!Hub @ Downtown East, Paya Lebar Square and Wheelock Place.

The coronavirus really seems to like Lucky Plaza.

The ICA Building and Gardens By The Bay were also added to the list.

Here are the new locations:

As always, there’s no need to panic and avoid these places. The National Environment Agency will work with the management of the affected premises to ensure it is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

So, it’ll probably be cleaner than your own room.
