The battle against COVID-19 in Singapore is going well.
Since 22 February 2020, we’ve no more than two new cases reported every day, and it’s all thanks to MOH’s crazily high-tech and intensive efforts.
Today, there’s one more case but it’s linked to a confirmed case. In fact, if MOH isn’t going all out with their detection method, they’d have missed this case.
Here’s what happened.
1 New COVID-19 Case in S’pore Today (25 Feb): Now Only 9 Cases That Have No Links
The new patient today is a 58-year-old Singaporean who is linked to Case 66, who’s from the Grace Assembly of God cluster. New data has shown that the Grace Assembly of God cluster is also linked to another church cluster, The Life Church and Missions Singapore cluster.
The patient apparently had her symptoms since 23 January 2020, and had visited a GP on 1 February, 6 February and 10 February. It was only on 18 February that she was referred to the NCID due to her close contact with Case 66.
That means currently, there are 91 confirmed cases in Singapore.
Updates on Confirmed Cases
Lest you didn’t know, MOH also revealed a rather high-tech detection method today which you can read here.
With the help of the police and this new method, there are now only 9 confirmed cases have infections from unknown origins, and the ministry is still working on establishing any link with current confirmed cases.
Out of the 91 cases, 58 of them have been discharged. 7 of them are in ICU while the conditions of the other 26 patients are either stable or improving.
As of noon today, 12pm, MOH has identified 2,846 close contacts who have been quarantined. Of these, 371 are currently quarantined, and 2,475 have completed their quarantine.
