Woman Gave Birth After a Car Crash But Couldn’t Find the Newborn After That; Turned Out He Was Under the Seat

You’ve heard of ladies giving birth in the back of a car. You’ve gone all incredulous over how incredible it sounds: a baby that was born not in a hospital, not at home, but in a moving vehicle that’s trekking on a road.

Wow, you thought, that’s amazing. Though it’s admittedly really unsafe, for both the passenger and the driver.

And then you go on with your life, cheery as always, until you stumble upon this article.

This life-changing piece of work that’s going to change the way you think, forever.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls; the notion of ladies giving birth in the back of a car is so 2019. It’s 2020, midst of an ongoing pandemic, and I dare say it’s time for an upgrade;

A really horrifying upgrade that can be considered miraculous at best.

Woman Gave Birth After a Car Crash But Couldn’t Find the Newborn After That

Imagine giving birth in a car crash and being unable to find the newborn babe after that. Sounds utterly ridiculous?

Well, that’s exactly what happened.

According to CNNa woman was rushing her pregnant adult daughter and a one-year-old to the hospital, as the daughter was about to conceive. As if the task wasn’t taxing enough, the frantic grandmother had to contend with the dark lighting and wet roads.

Welp, that sounds like a scene right out of a horror movie.

And as it turns out, something was about to happen, though this one seems to be more of a Final Destination kind of movie than The Conjuring.

According to the police, the driver had tried to make a turn, only to hydroplane her vehicle across the road and hitting a curb and power pole, before eventually slamming into a brick wall.

Police body camera footage from the scene has since revealed that windows of the SUV were absolutely destroyed in the impact. Though thankfully, the family members are all alive.

Gotta admit; I’m utterly incredulous at the survival rate. After all, we’ve seen how people died for less on the news.

On that note, remind me to get a SUV in the future because it might just save my life.

Anyways, as it turns out, it wasn’t the end of the ordeal just yet. The daughter had successfully given birth, but another complication had also arisen;

They can’t find the baby.

And Look Where It Is!

Lilurn Police officers Cepeda Huff, Daniel Bride and SGT Matt Madden, who responded to the scene, began searching for the newborn with the help of flashlights.

As Officer Huff probed the backseat of the SUV where the pregnant woman had been seated, he found the baby with its umbilical cord still attached…

Right under a seat.

While other babies nestle under a sheet in a hospital room, this particular baby nestles under a seat on matted dirt.

Talk about a difference in treatment.

After the discovery, the baby was gently extracted from under the seat before he was rushed to emergency medical workers at the scene.

The entire family was subsequently escorted to a local hospital. The newborn was situated in a neonatal ICU, and is reportedly in a stable condition.

What Are The Odds Exactly?

Incredulous? Well don’t worry, I certainly am too. After all, one only has to consider the odds to realise just how incredible this entire thing is:

  • Terrible-sounding car crash
  • Injured woman still manages to give birth
  • Fragile newborn foetus goes missing
  • It’s then found under a seat

Like, really? Even Netflix dramas aren’t this generous with their primary cast members.

But hey, all’s well that ends well, eh? And I would imagine that the baby will have a real story to tell when it’s all grown up.

“How were you born, Grandpa?”

“Oh, I was born in a car crash. And they couldn’t find me for a while too!”

That will be the coolest grandparent story ever.

P.S. Please stay safe and avoid such scenarios. Not every family has as much luck as this particular Georgia family.

P.S.S. That’s one family which you can count on to survive the apocalypse.
