Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok and his wife Moka Fang expressed their grief over close friend Abby Choi’s death two days after details of her murder were reported.

They posted on their social media accounts on 26 February.

Known to be Close Friends

Fang, who was a model before marrying actor-singer Kwok, is publicly known to be a close friend of Choi. Fang hosted Choi at her Carrie Garden home in Hong Kong several times, and the two would often be spotted attending gatherings, fashion galas, and movie premiers together.

Fang also attended Choi’s recent birthday party and was featured in Choi’s Instagram post.

Fang posted a black-and-white picture with a Chinese caption on her social media accounts. The translation reads:

“Feeling extremely anguished. I’m still unable to accept that this happened at this moment. I’m sad beyond words and just want to ask ‘why’ 1,000 times. I am still overwhelmed by pain and grief. Rest in peace.”

Kwok reposted her post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo with the caption “Rest in peace”.

According to Hong Kong media, Fang and Choi met on the day of Choi’s murder. They had dinner together before Choi left to pick up her daughter. She never returned.

What Happened?

Lest you’re not aware, here’s a quick recap of what happened to Hong Kong socialite and model Abby Choi.

Choi had been reported missing last Tuesday after failing to pick her daughter up from school.

She was found dead and dismembered in a village house in the Tai Po district. The police found weapons such as an electric saw and a meat grinder at the crime scene.

Police found the missing head of Ms Choi in one of two big pots. The pots contained soup and minced meat, believed to be human remains. Police also found ribs believed to be Choi’s in the soup.

She was only 28 years old.

Five Suspects Arrested

All five suspects arrested were related to her former husband’s family.

Former husband, Alex Kwong, his father, and his brother have been charged with murder. His mother has been charged with obstruction of justice, meaning she played a part in trying to cover up the murder.

The fifth person arrested is a 47-year-old woman who is reportedly the mistress of Kwong’s father.

This isn’t the first time Kwong’s father was embroiled in a criminal case. He was a policeman embroiled in a rape case in 2005. He left his post voluntarily while under investigation.

Messages of condolences have flooded the Douyin account of Choi’s mother, who goes by the name “Fifth Sister” on the platform.

Though she has not spoken up about her daughter’s murder, she has liked comments left by other users, such as how it was a pity for such a filial daughter to be cruelly killed.

Choi’s Instagram page has also been similarly flooded with messages of condolences as more details of her gruesome murder are reported.
