Lest you’re unaware, prior to today, there were five main COVID-19 clusters that were identified by MOH:

  • The Life Church and Missions Singapore with 6 linked cases
  • Yong Thai Hang shop with 9 linked cases
  • Grand Hyatt Singapore with 3 linked cases (there are more overseas)

And today, with two new cases, a new cluster has been identified.

2 New COVID-19 Cases in S’pore Today (28 Feb); 1 New Cluster Identified

2 new cases were reported today, and because there’s a clear link in the new cases and some cases announced previously, a new cluster is identified.

The first patient is a 44-year-old Singapore PR who had her first symptoms on 20 February 2020 and went to a GP on the same day. On 27 February 2020, she was isolated as she has been a close contact with Case 93, who was reported on 26 February 2020. She was tested positive yesterday afternoon.

The second patient is a 24-year-old Singapore PR who was tested positive this morning. He is linked to Cases 93, 95 and the first patient.

And as you’d be able to tell, Case 93, Case 95 and these two latest patients are all linked, and all of them are linked to a company, Wizlearn Technologies Pte Ltd, an eLearning solutions company located at Science Park Road.

This makes it the sixth local cluster.

The company hasn’t made any response, and their Facebook Page hasn’t been active for almost a year.

Updates on Confirmed Cases

In total, Singapore now has 96 confirmed cases.

69 of them have recovered and are discharged. 7 are in ICU, which means 1 of them is out of critical condition as there were 8 people in ICU yesterday.

The conditions of the remaining 20 patients are either stable or improving.

As of noon today, MOH has identified 2,940 close contacts who have been quarantined. Of these, 191 are currently quarantined, and 2,749 have completed their quarantine.

I don’t know about you, but with February coming to an end, it’s a good time to look at the numbers again as a report book, and it’s encouraging to know that only 27 patients are being warded now and less than 200 people being quarantined.

Goody results, indeed.
