These days, you don’t have to take a 20-hour flight to the US to get Chicken and Waffles, as many cafes and even some fast food establishments in Singapore have incorporated it in their menus.
But there aren’t many places here where you can find shrimp paste-marinated Chicken with Waffles, and with a sambal mayo sauce at that.
That’s why Grub Burger Bistro, an eatery located at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, has become popular with food lovers in the country.
Patrons not only enjoyed the tasty food but the tranquil ambiance that only a cafe in a park can offer.
Sadly, we’ll soon have to say goodbye to Grub Burger.
Grub Burger Bistro at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park Will Be Closing by Jan 2022
That’s right, after nine years of serving patrons at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, Grub Burger Bistro will soon be closing.
In a Facebook post yesterday (26 Sep), the burger bistro revealed that its lease at the park will not be renewed next year.
It said it received the “crushing news” at the start of the last week.
“After building this place up from an empty patch of land, and spending 9 years serving this community, we are still trying to come to terms with the shock that this space will no longer be our home,” it wrote.
It said that while this particular door has closed, it believes another will open.
The eatery added that while it’s actively searching for places, its main priority is ensuring that its crew members are taken care of, especially considering the short timeline for moving out.
“It has been our joy and pleasure being part of this community for almost a decade,” the burger bistro said.
“Do come and have a meal with us before we leave in January (within safe limits). It would mean a lot to our crew to see you again.”
As for those who would prefer not to eat out during these times, Grub Burger Bistro said customers could stay in touch with them here.
New Dining-in Measures
If you are planning to visit Grub Burger Bistro, you should be aware of the new dining-in restrictions.
From today (27 Sep), only groups of up to two fully vaccinated individuals can dine in at restaurants, down from the previous limit of five.
Those who are unvaccinated and want to eat out will need to present a negative pre-event test result.
The rules for dining in at hawker centres and coffee shops, however, will remain unchanged; diners are limited to groups of two, regardless of vaccination status.
