Marsiling Hawker Stall Posts Aggressive Replies on Bad Reviews; Claims Bad Reviews Are “Groundless”

Criticism can be harsh. And sometimes, it can even be unwarranted. Yet, like it or not, it’s ever-present in life, and we just have to take it in our stride (and with a pinch of salt).

For some, however, it’s difficult to keep it lying down. And so they fight back with the utmost grit and scorn…

A revelation not unlike the following instance.

Marsiling Hawker Stall Posts Aggressive Replies on Bad Reviews; Claims Bad Reviews Are “Groundless”

A hawker stall in Marsiling has become somewhat notorious for how it “entertains” stoic/negative reviews.

Located in Marsiling Lane Market & Food Center, the GrabFood-available stall, titled simply as “Muslim Food Stall”, dishes up sumptuous treats such as fried chicken and local/Malaysian fare.

But here’s the thing: apparently, it also dishes up pretty snarky replies to certain reviews.

For example, a customer had provided feedback, saying that the food was too salty.

Now, while most eateries would reply with an earnest apology and a promise to do better in the future, or at the very least not respond at all, this Muslim food stall chose to watch the world burn instead.

Yes, you read that right: “Then don’t buy lah.”

And lest you wonder, no, it’s not a one-time thing.

In fact, the onslaught has a perplexingly long record.

And in some cases, it spiralled into an actual personal attack.

For context, the stall is rated 4.6 stars on average across more than 2,000 reviews on GrabFood. This means that the stall is generally well-reviewed by the public.

Though, to be fair, the stall has responded favourably to positive reviews before.

In other news, we are not entirely sure of the reason why, but the place is currently closed until 6 September 2023.

It should be noted, though, that the eatery has earned a rather stellar reputation for its food, having been featured in foodie videos such as this one:

Response

The food stall has since been interviewed, and the online doppelganger of Gordon Ramsay has been unveiled:

It’s none other than the 32-year-old daughter of the stall owner.

Professing that many reviews were “groundless” in nature, she opted to reply savagely to them in turn.

If the reviews were polite, she would reciprocate.

She added that her parents have tended the stall since the 70s, and that they’ve endured lots of hardship.

Though it’s just speculation at this point, the daughter, who only wants to be known as Hani, could be especially critical of “bad” reviews because of how hard her parents have worked.

It’s not just eateries, either.

Not too long ago, North Vista Secondary School went viral for its sassy replies to less-than-positive Google reviews.
