Previously, the PAP Community Foundation (PCF) Sparkletots centres all across Singapore, with the exception of the centre at Blk 126 Fengshan, were closed for four days because of Covid-19.

Teacher Tested Positive For Covid-19

On 2 Apr 2020, it was reported that a teacher working at My First Skool at Rivervale Crescent was tested positive for the coronavirus.

The school will be closed from 3 Apr to 14 Apr 2020 for thorough cleaning and disinfection.

All parents and students are also placed on Leave of Absence (LOA).

It was revealed that the teacher was last in the pre-school on Thursday.

The school is also “closely monitoring” its staff and parents on the health of their children, it added.

A Reminder For Pre-Schools

ECDA also wants to take the opportunity to remind the pre-schools to be vigilant when conducting health checks.

That and to “observe high standards of personal and environmental hygiene”.

Schools are encouraged to keep the environment clean and for people within to frequently wash their hands with soap.

Including before eating, handling food, after going to the toilet and after coughing or sneezing.

Not The Only My First Skool To Affected By Covid-19 On 2 Apr

On 2 Apr 2020, a parent of two pre-schoolers at the My First Skool centre in Fernvale Link was tested positive for Covid-19.

The school immediately ramped up cleaning and disinfection of the area.

Both the children and family members of the affected parent has also been issued with quarantine orders.

The parent who was tested positive for the coronavirus last came to the centre in Dec 2019.

The other parent’s last contact with the centre was on 27 Mar when the individual came to pick up the kids.

As per precautionary measures, the parent did not enter the premises.

The school has been “professionally” sanitised on 27 Mar as part of their regular cleaning. But to ensure the safety of the children, the school went on to engage a vendor approved by the National Environment Agency (NEA) to clean the premises thoroughly.

They also stepped up precautionary measures like extra cleaning, safe distancing measures and closer monitoring.

The pre-school will remain open, as advised by ECDA.
