Hello and welcome to another episode of What Would You Do?

In this episode, you come home to find that someone has moved your bicycle so they can clean their window.

Your bicycle has not been damaged in any way, but it’s not parked in the same place it was an hour ago.

So, what would you do?

  1. Shrug your shoulders, go home, and continue watching Lupin on Netflix
  2. Ask your neighbour why he had moved it, and ask him to put it back in its original spot after cleaning

Most of us would go with option 1, but one man decided to go with sociopathic option number 3: attack your neighbour with a bicycle chain.

Attacked Man Without Saying Anything

On Saturday (12 June), 47-year-old Mr Toh had moved his neighbour’s bicycle that was parked next to his window so he could place his ladder there and clean the outside of the window.

When his neighbour returned and saw that the bicycle had been moved, he was not too pleased, to say the least.

He could have at least made his feelings known, but he allegedly pushed the bicycle with force instead, causing it to hit the ladder.

Mr Toh was shocked, and asked the neighbour what was wrong.

The neighbour responded by whipping out a bicycle chain with a lock from the bicycle’s basket and attacking the 47-year-old man with it.

The assault caused Mr Toh to fall off his ladder and onto the floor.

Bleeding and feeling a severe pain at the back of his head, he rushed to a nearby unit to ask for help. There, a woman not only provided a towel to stem the bleeding, but intervened to stop the neighbour from attacking Mr Toh as well.

Mr Toh was dizzy, but was concerned for the safety of his children inside his house.

“I was worried that the attacker would run into the house and hurt my children,” he said, noting that his front door was unlocked at the time.

“Fortunately, the woman living next door helped attend to my children.”

The 47-year-old was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital by the Singapore Civil Defence Force and needed five stitches for a 4cm wound on his head. Fortunately, he was discharged on the same day.

As for the neighbour, it’s not exactly easy to evade detection when you’re literally living next door to the person you attacked.

Neighbour Arrested

Speaking to TNPthe police said they were alerted to the case of dispute at Block 130 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 at about 10.30am

They arrested a 65-year-old man for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.

Investigations are still ongoing.

According to Mr Toh, this isn’t the first time his neighbour has done something unsavoury, as he has allegedly been spitting and throwing garbage outside his unit a month after he had moved in in 2019.

Yes, it seems like we have yet another story of a Neighbour From Hell.
