It’s always been a fantasy of mine to chill by the beach, soda in one hand and lobster roll in another. Sinking my teeth into the chewy, bouncy lobster filling and washing it down with bubbly, vibrant drinks – heaven doesn’t stray too far from that.

But a fantasy remains a fantasy. Every weekend, the mere thought of Singapore’s scorching sun have me gladly retreating back into bed and staying there instead.

Nevertheless, I can at least fulfil two-third of that fantasy in the comfort of air-conditioned spaces.

Drum roll please.

Luke’s Lobster Coming to Singapore

Luke’s Lobster is coming to Singapore on 23rd September 2020.

The American-based restaurant, which saw a humble beginning in the East Village in 2009, now boasts 26 outlets in the States and 11 more in Japan.

They serve delectable seafood rolls, featuring wild-caught crabs, prawns and lobsters.

Each toasted butter bun is topped with either 113g or 170g of the seafood of choice and doused in generous helpings of mayonnaise, lemon butter and special seasoning.

Sustainable Seafood

Luke’s Lobster not only dishes out mouthwatering Maine-style seafood rolls, but they are also big on sustainability.

Working directly with local fishermen, they eliminate the middleman from the trade of seafood to source fresh and ethical ingredients.

The selected catch is shipped straight from the nets to their own seafood company before moving on to their outlets.

And the result – traceable and sustainable seafood at high quality and cheaper costs.

Priced to Remain Affordable

As of now, the menu and pricing remain undisclosed.

In the US, a lobster roll with chips costs US$17 (S$23.32), while crab and prawn roll sets cost US$14 (S$19.20) and US$10 (S$13.72) respectively.

The franchisee Caerus Holding, which also brought in Lady M in 2013, has promised to keep things affordable.

Delivery will also be available in response to the new normal. I don’t even have to leave my bed! Yayyyyyy

Apart from the signatures, we can look forward to a wide selection of sides and drinks as well.

A 34YO “old-virgin” S’porean was desperately looking for a boyfriend and surprisingly, she really found one online. But the intentions of the man will make you cry. Prepare tissue paper to watch this video based on real events:

Hopefully, the chowders and bisques, Maine-style sides, desserts, sodas and even microbrews from their home country make it onto our menu.

Outlet Next to Leckerbaer in Shaw House

The outlet would be able to house around 30 customers with 23 seats, but distancing measures shaved it down to 17 guests at a time for now.

It is situated right next to Leckerbaer Singapore, famous Danish pastry chain’s first overseas outpost by the same franchisee as Luke’s Lobster’s.

So, my suggestion: get a box of Leckerbaer’s butter cookies and slowly eat your way through the flavours while you queue endlessly for the lobster roll.

By the time it’s your turn, I think you’d be just hungry enough again to enjoy the main course.

As for me, delivery it is.

  • Opening hours: 10am to 9pm daily (Opens 1pm on Sep 23)
  • Address: 50 Orchard Road #01-K4, Shaw House, Isetan Scotts, Singapore 238868
