Love is in the air!
Following the news of Ah Boys To Men‘s actor Maxi Lim’s recent engagement, another Singaporean celebrity has announced hers.
Yes, I’m talking about 36-year-old singer Kelly Poon.
She’s the one who made one of the Descendants of the Sun great again.
She made the big announcement yesterday by posting an Instagram photo of her wearing a diamond ring on her ring finger while holding the hand of 37-year-old Taiwanese music producer-songwriter Roger Yo.
The photo was captioned “XXIIIIIV”, followed by the hashtag #RKXX, which has the couple’s initials.
“I’m taken”
After making an Instagram post, Poon also shared the same photo on her Instagram, but not before adding the words “I’m taken” to it.
According to The Straits Times, the couple had recently travelled to Ko Samui, Thailand for a holiday before Chinese New Year.
So how did the loving couple meet?
Well, Poon and Yo first met through work. After they dated for a year, he set up the entertainment agency Easy Time Entertainment in 2017.
After which, Poon would often be the host and help entertain guests whenever there were office events like Christmas gatherings or year-end dinners for employees.
Who Is Kelly Poon?
In case you don’t know who she is, she was the first runner-up on the singing talent search competition Project Superstar in 2005.
From there, she debuted with the album, Love me, Kelly in February 2006. This album also included her hit song, Don’t Cry.
Her most recent album that was released in 2014, Miss Kelly, led her to win the Regional Artiste – Singapore accolade at the Global Chinese Music Awards.
Their Relationship
Poon didn’t reveal much about her dating life to her fans, and didn’t post photos of her and her fiancé either, but there were sometimes glimpses into their lives through her Instagram stories.
This story showcased her and her fiancé’s preferences in coffee.
This story compared her and her fiancé’s feet sizes, and she adorably complained about how her foot size was the same as his.
Date day?
Many of Poon’s celebrity friends and fans have been quick to congratulate her on her engagement, like former Sing! China contestant Joanna Dong and local actress Felicia Chin.
We would also like to congratulate Kelly Poon and we wish her all the best!
And maybe she could make a Crash Landing on You song great again?
