Borders between Malaysia and Singapore have officially re-opened for two weeks now.
Save for some misbehaviour that has been caught on tape and a dramatic car chase, everything has been going smoothly for those who travelled back and forth the borders.
But this weekend was especially prosperous because snaking queues were seen forming at Woodlands Checkpoint.
This was completely different from the first weekend when numbers were low on the first day of the re-opening of the Singapore-Malaysia Borders. To know more about it, watch the short video here:
New Queue Situation at Woodlands
According to 8world, the crowd situation at Woodlands checkpoint was drastically larger than the previous week.
Travellers have said that it took nearly about an hour and a half to clear the border customs. Previously, it only took about 10 minutes for them to do so.
A lady, Ms Gao, who works in logistics commented that it usually took her about 10 minutes to leave Singapore after work and five minutes for Malaysia.
Rumours About Bus 950 Resumption for Travel
Aside from the snaking queue situation which has led to some Singaporeans putting off their weekend travel plans to JB for now, there are also rumours arising from the Malaysia-Singapore Border Crossers (MSBC) group regarding the comeback of Bus 950.
A video was taken by a user going by the name Jason James which mentions that SMRT bus 950 will resume its Singapore-JB travel service from 18 April onwards.
Currently, travel between Singapore and Malaysia borders are permitted so long as you are fully vaccinated.
Travellers will also have to download the MySejahtera application for contact tracing purposes in Malaysia. Travellers are also required to fill in a pre-departure form within the mobile application prior their travel.
As for air travel to Malaysia, you will still need to do a pre-departure ART test within two days before your departure date.
