Here’s what happened.

Video of Black Community Cat Panicking in ION Orchard Went Viral

On 2 July 2023, TikToker @huitinggoh uploaded a video of a panicking black cat at ION Orchard shopping mall.

The incident reportedly happened on 1 July, Saturday.

The floor was allegedly just mopped so it was slippery, and the black cat was unable to find its footing.

The cat was visibly panicking, scurrying around at top speed.

It eventually ran out of frame after making a few frantic turns.

While there are many shoppers seen within the video, they did not approach the cat.

Instead, they observed the feline from a distance.

This may also mean that the cat may have been new to the area because cats don’t panic like that unless they’re in a new area.

Hoped Someone Helped It

Since its upload, the TikTok video has gone viral, garnering over 2.6k likes and 468 shares.

Most of the commenters on the video expressed their sympathy for the black cat.

But of course, there are those who couldn’t resist making jokes:

One commenter presumedly took issue with how people just stood by:

This isn’t the first time, nor will it be the last, we’ll hear about cats going to places they shouldn’t.

In May 2023, a sassy cat was seen making its way down to the MRT platform to hitch a ride.

Unfortunately, before it got to board the train, it was spotted by two MRT staff at the platform. After succumbing to the irresistible urge to pet the cat, the staff gently escorted the feline friend out of the station.

The cat didn’t seem to mind getting escorted out, as it appeared to follow the staff members obediently.

It’s not just limited to cats either.

Unlike our feline friend, however, this sneaky rat managed to board the train and essentially hitched a ride to its destination without paying a fee.

According to a follow-up video uploaded by TikTok user @salimscorpio, three SMRT staff members were alerted to the rat’s presence on the train and boarded it to catch the rat.

However, the rat was already long gone before they could find it.
