Chan was born in Hong Kong and moved to Singapore at a young age. In 2011, she signed with Hong Kong broadcaster TVB until 2019 and has taken part in numerous productions.

Not only is she a successful actress, but a strong businesswoman too.

After starting two businesses, it seems Chan is ready to start something new: A family.

Apple Chan Got Engaged Seven Weeks Ago

The announcement of Chan’s pregnancy comes seven weeks after she announced her engagement to her boyfriend on 13 March 2024, one day after her birthday.

Her caption on the Instagram post reads: “This year, another thing to be thankful for… Someone stole my heart, so I’m stealing his last name”.

Chan did not reveal his identity.

Began Talking About Marriage Not Long After Getting Together With Her Now-Fiancé (Or Now-Husband)

In an interview with Hong Kong media Oriental Daily News, Chan revealed that she and her now-fiancé (or now-husband?) have not been dating for a long time.

The couple, however, had a lot in common, and soon began to talk about getting married not long after they got together.

Chan also said that her fiancé / husband had proposed to her on a yacht, and she was moved to tears.

In her Instagram post for her engagement announcement, the pair are pictured holding hands on a yacht, with the words “MARRY ME” and a bouquet of flowers sitting right behind them.

The actress said she will be holding wedding banquets in Singapore and Hong Kong next year.

Three days before Chan announced her pregnancy on 1 May, she posted an Instagram reel saying “You’re that friend who always posts everything late, so nobody knows where you are or what you’re up to”.

In the caption, she wrote: “Only iykyk”.

“Iykyk” is a short form for “if you know, you know”, which alludes to information or an inside joke only a select group of people know.

Given the timing of the video and its caption, it’s possible Chan was hinting at her pregnancy, which was probably only known to her fiancé / husband, family, and closest friends then.
