Just by looking at the title, I have confirmed a long time suspicion of my boss: he is cheapskate.

Angbaos not at least S$10 one meh? At the very least give S$5 mah. See, this article agrees with me that Ang Bao is at least S$5.

But I digress.

If you don’t want people to feel your Ang Bao trying to guess how much is inside during the family gathering, or just want to appear like you’re keeping up with all the high-tech cool gadgets or just too lazy busy to queue for crisp, fresh money…

DBS QR Ang Bao Is Here For You

We’re in the digital age, which means no physical notes will be involved here.

You load cash onto a QR slip by scanning it on your phone. The QR code can contain a cash value of up to S$999, and you can select how much you want inside.

The recipient then scans the QR code to receive the money in their own DBS PayLah! wallet.

Cool huh? Cryptocurrency ang bao when?

DBS QR Gift Collection Points

You ask: but GoodyFeed, doesn’t this mean that you still have to go out and get the QR slip?

Uhh. You’re right. But if you’re giving an S$8, do you really want to give a S$1 coin, a S$2 note, and a S$5 note, huh!?

You can also leave a personalised message on the card or greeting when you load your QR Gift.

And remember to choose a fancy animation. As you can probably tell, we here at Goody Feed can’t live without those.

You can collect the DBS QR Gift cards for free at all DBS/POSB Branches, DBS Treasures Centres and POSB Pop-up ATMs.

Or if you really don’t want to go down to collect the QR Gift, you can also send them via eGift. This was previously known as eAng Bao. Use DBS PayLah!, tap on the ‘Pay’ button on the Homepage, toggle on ‘Send as eGift’, then send the money over.

And did I mention…

You Can Also Win Up To S$888

That’s right, as long as you use the QR Gift whether as a giver or receiver, you can play the ‘TapLah!’ game which is exclusively on the DBS PayLah! app.

The goal is to collect as many points as you can within 30 seconds (gold coins +3 points, red packets +25) and avoid the bombs (-10 points).

If you are within the top 25 daily, you stand to win a daily prize of S$88 between 25 January to 8 February 2020.

And if you’re pro enough to maintain the top position until 8 February 2020, you win the grand prize of S$800!
