2020 hasn’t been the best year, admittedly.

Amidst things like protests and COVID-19, it can be hard to look on the brighter side of things.

But maybe if we look around us, we can find something that will restore our faith for this year.

And guess what? You can find them on the streets of Singapore.

Helping an Elderly Man

Sometimes all it takes a simple act of kindness.

On 6 Sept, Facebook user Yang ShiMing uploaded a video of a rainy roadside incident.

You can see some wipers in the video, probably because Yang filmed the scene from within his vehicle.

In the middle of the road, a man dashes across the road, without an umbrella to help an elderly, wheelchair-bound man across the road.

What’s even more impressive is that it was in the middle of active traffic, as seen from the green traffic light and moving vehicles.

The driver pushes the man all the way up the slope and ensures that he’s safe.

It is also shown in the last seconds of the clip that he actually came out from his car just to help the disabled man cross the road.

Going Viral With Positivity

You can’t expect this clip to not gain traction.

As of this writing, it has been shared over 1500 times and has more than 300 likes.

Unsurprisingly, a large majority of the comments also showered praise for the man.

I mean, the guy literally braved bad weather and dangerous traffic for another person. He definitely deserves some praise.

However, there was one comment that provided a little bit more sarcasm to the situation.

Particularly, to the bystanders who only watched.

For those who don’t know, eye power basically means if someone just watches and does nothing.

A 34YO “old-virgin” S’porean was desperately looking for a boyfriend and surprisingly, she really found one online. But the intentions of the man will make you cry. Prepare tissue paper to watch this video based on real events:

Shout outs to the brave man who carried out his good samaritan act despite the risks, though!

Just take care to watch for traffic should anyone of you try such things.

Other Traffic Incidents

Unfortunately, most road-related incidents aren’t happy ones.

Recently, another Facebook user had a rather unpleasant experience with two cyclists.

In his post, he mentioned driving behind the pair of cyclists for about four minutes along East Coast Park Service Road on 30 Aug.

One of them, not checking his blind spot, suddenly cut in front of the driver to go to Macdonalds. He subsequently horned them both to get their attention.

The three stopped and the driver told the cyclists that they shouldn’t have done so but was met with insults and vulgarities.
