Previously, it was announced that we would be receiving free COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Self-Test (ART) Kits.

It turns out that unlike the free masks and hand sanitisers, we won’t even need to step out of our house to take them, as the test kits will be posted to us instead.

Reader Bao: But I still have to leave the house and walk to my letterbox?

Erm, yes.

Reader Bao: Then it’s still a hassle

Okay, but here are the details.

All Households Will Receive 6 Free COVID-19 ART Self-Test Kits by Mail from Tomorrow (28 Aug)

The Ministry of Health (MOH) will be distributing ART self-test kits to all residential households from 28 August to 27 September 2021 via SingPost.

Pre-school kids and staff members will be receiving even more kits; the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) will be distributing ART kits from mid-September to all students and staff in ECDA-licensed preschools, MOE Kindergartens, Early Intervention centre, primary schools and Special Education schools (primary/junior sections). They will be distributing three ART kits per student/staff, and these are on top of the nationwide distribution of ART kits.

Do remember that these kids aren’t vaccinated as the vaccines are only for people above 12 years old.

Free Mask Distribution Started Yesterday

This announcement came a day after the start of the fifth mask distribution exercise that commenced yesterday (27 August 2021).

For the mask collection, residents will be able to collect their masks at various supermarkets islandwide, at a total of 131 outlets, and unlike previous collection exercises where you can just show your IC as proof when collecting the free supplies, it will be the first time one will have to show their electricity bill instead.
