These people commit crimes that make you wonder: How could someone do such a thing?

And there aren’t many out there worse than this father who raped his own teenage daughter.

Man Who Raped Teenage Daughter Twice Jailed, Told Court It’s Too ‘Troublesome’ To Use a Condom

A 50-year-old Chinese national and Singapore permanent resident (PR) was sentenced to 24 years in jail for molesting and raping his daughter.

The man pleaded guilty to two counts of rape. Another six molestation charges were taken into consideration for sentencing.

The man lived in an HDB flat with his wife and two children. However, the married couple slept separately because their relationship had been strained for many years.

So, the man’s wife slept in the master bedroom, while the man slept with his children in a partitioned area in the living room.

According to TODAYonline, his son had a bed of his own, while the man slept in the lower deck of a bunk bed. His daughter slept in the upper bunk.

Sexual Abuse Began in Jan 2018

It all started in Jan 2018 when her daughter reached her teenage years.

The man first touched her inappropriately in January 2018 when she was 13 years old. The young girl was using the computer to apply for travel documents for a school trip when he hugged her from the back and molested her under her T-shirt.

The girl stood up and walked away because she was scared and unsure of what to do.

Things escalated as he later started demanding that she lie beside him on the bed on Sunday mornings when she woke up early for art classes and their other family members were still asleep.

The girl complied because she was afraid of disobeying her father. While she laid with her back facing him, he would turn his daughter around to molest her.

The young teenager had good reason to be afraid of her father because he had disciplined her in the past by beating her with a “cane-like glue stick”, or slapping her.

Told Brother to No Avail

The sad thing about this is that the girl tried telling her older brother who is five years older than her about the assault in Feb 2018.

But, while he sensed that she was scared, he did not offer any help and just told her to reject their father the next time it happened.

If her brother had done something, things may not have escalated further.

From then on, their father repeatedly assaulted her sexually. On one occasion, he forced her to perform a sex act on him.

Raped Her in March 2018

Then, in March 2018, he raped the young girl for the first time and told her not to shout if she felt pain so she would not wake the rest of the family.

He raped her again in April, but did not use a condom this time. When he drove her to art class afterwards, the man realised that she had not washed her stained underwear but instead left them in the laundry basket.

So, he rushed home to get rid of the evidence.

Found it “Troublesome” to Get Condom

The girl later grew worried when she missed her period and the man bought a pregnancy test kit for her. The results came back negative.

Thankfully, the truth came out in October that same year.

The 13-year-old’s co-form teacher talked to her after finding out that she wanted to run away from home. The girl eventually told her teacher the truth and her father was arrested.

When speaking to police, the man said that he “found it troublesome” to get a condom from the master bedroom and thought it would be “safe”, based on what he knew about the girl’s periods.

Found it troublesome? But raping your own daughter was fine?

The girl was sent to the Child Guidance Clinic for a psychiatric assessment, where she said she occasionally “feels breathless for no reason”.

She said that she obeyed her father because she felt she had no choice and feared him.

How could a person be so selfish and heartless? Yes, the man will be in jail for 24 years and will come out an old man, but this poor young girl will have to deal with this trauma for the rest of her life.

Humans really suck sometimes.
