Another day another news article about the dreaded Wuhan coronavirus that’s been terrorising the world and turning everyone into masked ninjas.

We now have a total of seven confirmed cases in Singapore, according to the Ministry of Health (MOH).

The latest cases involve two patients who are both Chinese Nationals from Wuhan in Hubei province.

A 56-year-old man arrived from Wuhan on 19 January and only developed a cough later on 25 January.

MOH said that he promptly brought himself to Changi General Hospital on 26 January where he tested positive for the virus the very next day.

M’sia Now Has 7 Confirmed Cases As Well; All Of Them Chinese Nationals, Too

Now, our neighbouring country has also caught up with us as three more confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus have been discovered in Malaysia.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Malaysia to seven.

Similar to in Singapore, all seven cases involve Chinese nationals, according to Malaysia’s Health Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Unfortunately, the patients are a child as young as four years old, a 52-year-old man and the mother of two previously confirmed cases.

The young child is currently being warded at a hospital in Langkawi while the man is being treated at a hospital in Johor Bahru.

Another case has yet to be confirmed as lab results have not been released.

Malaysia Steps Up Screening Checks At All Entry Points

Just like Singapore, where extra measures and precautions are being taken to tackle the Wuhan virus outbreak, Malaysia too has a few tricks up their sleeves.

The Malaysia health ministry has assured its people that they will respond swiftly to the disease outbreak and that “existing capabilities are being enhanced” in order to address the coronavirus.

For one, they have increased screening checks at all entry points into the country and temporarily suspended the granting of visas for all residents from China’s Hubei province.

In addition, they have temporarily suspended the handing out of visas for all residents from China’s Hubei province.

The virus first cropped up all the way in the city of Wuhan located in China’s Hubei province.

It has since spread to more than 10 other countries all over the world.

These include the United States, Australia, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore.

At the time of writing, the novel coronavirus has claimed the lives of 130 people, while over 5000 people have contracted the virus.
