Tests, tests, and more tests.

This is the strategy of tiger parents and the Ministry of Health (MOH).

Children of these tiger parents may not be too happy, but residents of Singapore are certainly pleased with MOH’s approach.

After all, the more tests are done, the more undetected infections we can uncover.

And since most of our clusters are in the Bukit Merah area, our testing operations have largely been focused on neighbourhoods there.

Residents of 4 HDB Blocks in Henderson Crescent & Lengkok Bahru to Undergo Mandatory COVID-19 Testing

MOH is conducting a mandatory testing operation for residents of Block 103 Henderson Crescent and Blocks 55, 56, and 57 Lengkok Bahru.

The move was prompted by the discovery of four infections in three households in Block 103 Henderson Crescent, as well as coronavirus viral fragments in wastewater from the Lengkok Bahru blocks.

In addition to residents, MOH will also test the owners and staff of the shops in the Lengkok Bahru blocks.

For residents of Henderson Crescent, testing will be carried out in the pavilion at 104B Henderson Crescent on 28 and 29 June between 9:00am and 4:00pm.

And for the affected Lengkok Bahru residents, testing will be conducted at the void deck of 53 Lengkok Bahru on 28 and 29 June between 9:00am and 4:00pm as well.

If any affected resident has tested negative for COVID-19 from 23 June, then this mass testing exercise will be optional for them.

Voluntary Testing

Just as with other special testing operations, the health ministry is also offering free testing to those who have come into contact with residents from all the blocks.

Those who visited Block 103 Henderson Crescent or came into contact with residents there between 7 June and 26 June can book an appointment to be tested here.

Testing will be conducted by appointment only at designated regional screening centres on 28 June and 29 June, as well as at the pavilion at 104B Henderson Crescent on 29 June.

Similarly, those who came in contact with affected Lengkok Bahru residents, or visited the affected blocks, can also get tested.

MOH reminded residents to bring along their NRICs when going for their tests.

Minimise Social Interactions While Waiting for Test Results

Even if you’re asymptomatic and haven’t tested positive yet, you could still do so once your test result comes back.

That’s why MOH advised those who are waiting for their test results to minimise their social interactions.

They should also monitor their health and seek medical attention if they are unwell, the ministry said.
