It is that time of the year again where Standard 6 students across Malaysia come to an end with the first chapter of their academic lives.
That’s right, its the announcement of the Primary School Evaluation Test (UPSR) results.
With the mass release of results, many of them would most likely be spending time with their family and friends to rejoice their mini victories.
Family would usually be the first support group you would run to celebrate a big milestone. However, not every child is fortunate enough to be able to celebrate with their parents.
12 Year Old Girl Cries In front Of Mother’s Grave While Reading Out Her UPSR Results
A netizen, Aishah Mat Akat, uploaded a tear jerking story to Facebook that broke everyone’s fragile hearts.
In this story, a young girl in Seberang Perai, Penang, had just received her UPSR results, just like every other student of her age.
However, unlike the rest of her cohort, she does not have the opportunity to celebrate it with her parents.
This is because her mother had passed away earlier on in her childhood, which leaves her to live with her grandmother until now.
Despite her circumstances, it did not deter her from completing her UPSR examinations with the support of her grandmother.
With determination, she stood before the grave of her own mother, and read out the score of her hard-earned results to her mother, tearfully.
Netizen’s Reactions
This story has caught the attention of the local online community and gone viral since then. The Facebook post has since been shared over 6k times.
Many netizens had commended the young girl for her filial piety towards her late-mother and gave well wishes for her future.
“Your mother must be so proud of you.”
“Congratulations, little girl. I wish you nothing but success for the days that come ahead. Your mother is waiting for you on the other side. Inshallah, always stay strong.”
“Looking at the photos already made me cry. I hope that you will be a successful child in this world and the next. Amin.”
It’s not me crying, it’s you.
In all seriousness, staying strong without your parents at such a young age is no easy feat. With such a strong determination and drive to do well for her mother, I’m certain that she will do well in life.
After all, there is nothing stronger than a love between a parent and a child.
