Got a few more years you want to hang with BAE without popping the question?
Or maybe…
Too cowardly or lazy to do an actual proposal?
Or maybe…
You both missed the BTO for Bidadari, which was said to be the “next-Bishan”?
Well I got good news for you…
(It’s already in the title lah but if you’re anticipating a nice BTO before this should be a nice headline to see twice.)
1,500 Bishan BTO Flats COULD Be Available By 2025
Emphasis on could, because there isn’t anything confirmed yet and it’s still in the works.
But considering the last time Bishan had any new flats was in 2006, when it was not even normal HDB but 176 studio apartments designed for the elderly…
You can say this is pretty hype stuff.
By works, I mean the HDB has called for a quotation for a traffic impact assessment for a proposed public housing development in the area.
AND documents seen by The Straits Times show a proposed development consisting of six residential blocks from 22 to 39 storeys high, with roof gardens and a total of 1,504 units in two, three and four-room units.
Some amenities in the proposal include a childcare centre, a residents’ committee centre, a minimart, a coffee shop and other shops.
It’s At Bishan Street 14, Next To Kallang River
Some of you might recognise this area as where the ITE College Central’s Bishan campus used to be until 2013, which was taken over by St Joseph’s Institution until 2016.
Now the 44,424 sqm site is currently designated for residential use in the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s masterplan.
Will Probably Have High Application Rates And Be Expensive
Being located at a hot spot like Bishan with very good amenities, you can expect that application rates will be high here, and also expensive.
But don’t take my word for it. Take what Nicholas Mak, head of research and consultancy at ERA Realty, has to say on it:
“It is very rare to get BTOs in Bishan… With the site’s close location to a primary school and an MRT station which already has a mall, you can expect very high application rates.”
“Chances are flat prices will be more expensive, but it is fair, given that they will likely fetch a higher price on the resale market too.”
After all, remember: Bishan is known to be the place with “million-dollar HDBs”.
Here’s A List Of Amenities
You know, just in case you somehow forgot that Bishan is one of the most convenient places to be living in S’pore.
- 400m or 5 min walk away from Bishan MRT
- Junction 8, AMK Hub and NEX
- Bishan-AMK park (you can spot otters here)
- Kallang river (yes, that’s connected to the Kallang river upgrade with cycling ramps)
- Bishan ActiveSG Stadium, Bishan ActiveSG Swimming Complex and Bishan Sports & Recreation Centre just beside the site
- Six good schools in the vicinity (Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Primary School, Townsville Primary School, Guangyang Primary School, Guangyang Secondary School, Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary School, Catholic High School)
But if you can’t wait, you might want to know about the 4,500 BTO flats in Ang Mo Kio, Tampines and Tengah which HDB will offer in November 2019.
Additionally, 3,000 more BTO flats in Sembawang and Toa Payoh will be released on February 2020.
