Here’s a weather forecast for Singapore that is going to shock you to your very core.
It’s… going to be hot.
OK fine, so it’s hot all the goddamn time. But when temperatures dropped to 21 degrees in December 2019, Singaporeans all over the country wondered; can it stay like this forever?
Well, the answer is a big hot yellow no.
1st Half of Feb is Going to be Hot & Windy With Temperature Up to 34°C
As you know, due to the skin melting off your bones the minute you stepped outside, January 2020 was pretty damn hot.
It’s actually the fourth warmest January since 1929, according to the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS).
But the heat is not abating.
The Met Service has forecast warm and occasionally windy conditions on most days for the first two weeks of February.
So, not only will it be hot, the universe will be nice enough to constantly blow this hot air into your beautiful face.
The daily temperature on most days is expected to range between 24 °C and 34 °C.
And later in the fortnight, there will be short thundery showers on some days, mostly in the afternoon, due to more thunderstorm cloud development.
Rainfall in the first half of the month is also expected to be below normal over most parts of Singapore.
Hot January
As previously mentioned, January 2020 was one of the warmest Januarys in recent years.
The daily maximum temperature was between 31.6°C and 33.5°C in the first half of January and ranged between 32.0°C and 35.4°C on all days in the second half of the month except on 21 January 2020.
In other words, it was hot as hell.
The highest daily maximum temperature last month was a searing 35.4°C recorded at Newton on 26 January 2020.
To be fair, the globe is warming, as scientists keep telling us. And according to the Met Office, 2020 is going to be one of the hottest years on record.
But hey, we’re Singaporeans, and the heat is like a familiar friend at this point. We just wish it were a friend that would stop visiting so damn often.
