You can’t really trust anyone, not even your own flesh and blood.
A 22-year-old man was arrested yesterday (27 Oct) after two women were found dead at Block 7A Commonwealth Avenue.
He is expected to be charged in court today (28 Oct)
Double murder
According to The Straits Times, the police were called in to investigate a case of two “unnatural deaths” at Block 7A in Commonwealth Avenue on Sunday evening.
The two women, aged 56 and 90, were found lying motionless and were pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
The case has been classified as a murder.
The suspect
Neighbours said that heard people screaming and shouting at around 7pm on Sunday.
The suspect was allegedly attacking the residents around him at the ground floor of their block, one eyewitness told The Straits Times.
“He looked very aggressive from his eye contact, and when I tried to calm him down, he turned violent,” said the eyewitness.
The eyewitness added that the suspect was incoherent and attacked those who tried to pacify him.
It eventually took four people to subdue the belligerent man, and the police arrived soon after.
Investigations
Like a twist in a movie, investigations revealed that both female victims and the suspect were related.
The 22-year-old suspect was arrested over the murder of his two relatives and will be charged in court on Monday (Oct 28).
Police officers were seen gathering evidence at two adjacent units on the seventh floor of the block.
Investigations are ongoing.
Second murder case on Sunday
Shockingly, this double murder was the second murder case reported that day.
On Sunday morning, a 63-year-old man was found dead at Block 633 in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6.
When the police arrived, they found the man lying motionless. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The police have classified the case as a murder and a 54-year-old woman has been arrested.
The woman, along with the 22-year-old man, will be charged in court today.
If these people are indeed guilty of murder, we hope that they will be punished severely.
