Today (7 August) is the day that all dormitories would be cleared, but if before you cheer and find four friends to celebrate, do read this article about what was announced in yesterday’s press conference, as more cases might still be found.
Nevertheless, today, as of 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed an additional 242 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.
This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 54,797.
Out of today’s cases, there’s only 1 community case: a Singaporean.
There are also 6 imported cases, and all of them were placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.
A majority of the cases are residents living in dormitories.
On average, based on yesterday’s numbers, the number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 3 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 2 per day in the past week.
The number of unlinked cases in the community has remained stable at an average of 1 case per day in the past 14 days.
And from tomorrow onwards, the number of daily cases reported might be a rollercoaster.
