Just when NUS thought it could snatch the throne from Yishun, Singapore’s most infamous place strikes again.
While NUS reigns supreme in terms of perverted acts, no one seems to rival Yishun in appalling acts.
But it feels like this one is truly inhumane and shocking even for our ghetto town.
Man Bashes In Baby’s Head
Yeah, you read that right.
I too had to take a double-take to ensure I didn’t misread the topic headline.
The man in question is 27-year-old renovation worker Mohamed Aliff Mohamed Yusoff who committed the act last Thursday (7 November).
The baby is nine-month-old Izz Fayyaz Zayani Ahmad.
While the details of the man’s motivations remain unknown, we do know that it took place in a multi-storey carpark at Block 840A Yishun Street 81.
Also, the baby is the son of Aliff’s girlfriend. So sort of a potential future step-dad?
Apparently, Aliff slammed the boy’s head against the floorboard of a van, causing severe injuries to the infant.
The act, unfortunately, led to the baby’s death on Friday (8 November).
Buried on Sunday
Aliff was charged in court on Saturday (9 November) for voluntarily causing grievous hurt and will return to court this Friday (15 November).
If found guilty (which frankly I don’t know how he could be found not guilty based on the current information), he faces up to 10 years in jail and fine/caning.
On a more tragic note, the young infant was buried last Sunday (10 November).
No parent should ever have to bury their child and our deepest condolences go out to his mother.
While we await more details and eventually the whole truth to come to light, we hope that justice will be served and may it ease this passing a little.
