The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 14 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection for 19 June.
Out of the 14 cases, 7 are linked to previous cases and have already been quarantined.
The remaining 7 cases were detected through surveillance, amongst whom 3 are linked to previous cases and 4 are currently unlinked.
3 out of 4 Unlinked Cases Was Detected from Special Ops Testing in Bukit Merah
Thanks to community surveillance testing, 3 unlinked cases were detected in the Bukit Merah area.
They are:
- A fully-vaccinated 46-year-old female Singaporean homemaker who has a fever and runny nose on 16 June.
- An 86-year-old female Singaporean retiree who is asymptomatic.
- A fully-vaccinated 44-year-old female Indonesian domestic worker developed a cough on the same day she received her COVID-19 results.
The other unlinked case involves a 31-year-old female Vietnamese who works as a pastry maker at Bakery Point at 920 Tiong Bahru Road.
She is asymptomatic when detected as part of the community surveillance testing effort for visitors to 86 Redhill Close.
5 More Cases Were Linked to the 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre Cluster
Two of which involve close contacts who were already quarantined, namely
- A fully-vaccinated 42-year-old female Singaporean who works as a technical executive at Nanyang Polytechnic. She was tested for COVID-19 on 17 June during quarantine, and her test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 18 June.
- A 45-year-old female Singapore Permanent Resident who is an operations staff at Paxxus Pte Ltd. She developed a fever, sore throat and runny nose on 17 June and was subsequently tested positive for COVID-19.
The remaining 3 cases were detected through surveillance for visitors to 115 and 116 Bukit Merah View:
- An 81-year-old male Singaporean retiree developed a cough on 15 June. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 18 June.
- A 41-year-old female Indonesian domestic worker had visited 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre. Her test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on the same day as well.
- A 35-year-old female Singaporean who works in an administrative role at J. Roger Preston Ltd. She developed a sore throat on 13 June but she was tested negative for COVID-19 then. Her test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 18 June.
7 Imported Cases
All 7 imported cases were tested and detected while serving their SHNs.
They include 3 Singaporeans and 4 Singapore Permanent Residents who returned from India, Thailand and the UAE.
346 Active Cases
There are currently 153 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 1 is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
193 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.
34 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
