Have you ever wanted to save yourself the hassle of having to wash a frying pan after making your eggs, or you want a sure-fire way to get the correct type of hard-boiled eggs you want?
Reader: Odd questions to ask, but what do you have in mind?
This isn’t a Buzzfeed video about making a three-course-meal with a specific appliance, or some egg-xegeration, but an air fryer might just be the answer you were looking for.
One: Hard-Boiled Eggs
According to Cook at Home Mom, air-fryer eggs are one of the best ways to “boil” your eggs to the perfect consistency you want, whether it is soft-boiled, jammy, or hard-boiled.
The instructions are pretty simple:
- Preheat your air fryer at a low temperature, like simmering a pot of water.
- Place your eggs inside the air fryer basket/rack, ensuring that the eggs are spaced out so that the hot air can circulate.
- For the cooking time, it depends on what you want:
– Soft boiled eggs take 9 to 10 minutes
– Jammy eggs take 11 to 13 minutes
– Hard boiled eggs take 14 to 15 minutes - Submerge the eggs in an ice bath to quickly stop the cooking process.
- When the eggs are cool enough, crack the shells and peel them
Viola! You will have perfectly cooked eggs as you wish, with little to no cleaning necessary.
You can even dash a bit of salt and pepper on the sliced eggs to give a bit of extra taste!
Two: Aluminum Foil Sunny Side Ups
Judging from the name itself, you can roughly guess how the process goes. It is an egg-cellent method to make perfect sunny side ups!
Funnily enough, the method comes from Air Fryer Fanatics:
The first step is to get some aluminum foil and fold it into a ‘pan-like’ or ‘cup-like’ shape to ensure that the egg won’t spill out when you crack it in. You can also buy aluminum pans.
Secondly, ensure that the aluminum foil is either coated with cooking spray or olive oil, so that it makes it easier to scoop out the eggs later.
Thirdly, crack the eggs inside the self-made pans, and put it inside the air-fryer for 6 minutes at 200°C (390°F) for a runnier consistency.
If you prefer your sunny side ups to be more well-done or crisper, keep it inside the air-fryer for 8 minutes, checking it intermittently for the desired doneness.
Once satisfied, scoop the eggs out of the aluminum foil and enjoy it!

Three: Scrambled Eggs or Omelettes
The last method of making your eggs comes courtesy of Cooking Light.
One of the best things about using an air-fryer is that you can cut down on the amount of butter and oil used to cook the egg because of the excess heat that the air-fryer has.
Firstly, place your pan or foil inside the fryer for one minute at 150°C (300°F) before spraying it with cooking spray or coating the surface with a small dollop of butter.
Crack the egg and let it cook on the hot surface for 6 to 7 minutes, stirring twice during that duration.
If you prefer extra fluffy scrambled eggs, the chef suggests that you can use two to three eggs plus a pinch of salt and a splash of skim milk.
For omelettes, it is essentially the same process, with less stirring involved.
