5 April Fool’s Jokes by S’pore Companies That Seem Real, Including the Durian Subway Sandwich

Yes, I know you’re crying after reading the headline.

The Durian Subway Sandwich isn’t real? To think you’ve been looking forward to it for days.

Which is why you should download our app and read our article instead, and also don’t just go through the headlines—we specifically said that it could most likely be an April Fool’s joke.

Now, let the disappointment begin.

Durian Subway Sandwich

Of course we’ve to start with this, shouldn’t we?

Back on 27 March 2020, Subway posted this that got a whopping 1.6K shares:

The only problem? It’ll be released “next week”, which falls on the first of April.

And we all know where that’ll lead us to.

If you’ve been wondering how durian would taste with chicken, wonder forever because you’re not going to experience it.

Unless you’re crazy enough to DIY it, which I’ll salute you for your courage.

Ayam Brand Bubble Tea Pearls

I’ve got to admit this: I fell for it the first time I saw it.

Because you can bubble tea everything, I see no reason why no one’s done it before.

Moreover, it looks so legit that I’d have gone down to a supermarket to grab one and put them into my teh gao to concoct my own local bubble tea at home until I realise the date it was posted.

Well, it was a nice, harmless try.

“Bubble Tea” Chicken

Similar to Ayam Brand, this is rather believable except that it’s indicated clearly that it’s only available on 1 April 2020, which gives it away immediately.

But it goes to show one thing: no one would be surprised if you put bubble tea into anything. The two jokes above have proven that fact.

Diploma in Tiktok by NAFA

The title says it all. If you think it’s real, then you probably are someone who TikTok daily.

But given that they even have a carousel for this, you’d have to give them props for the effort.

Nasi Lemak Bubble Tea?

You’ve seen how companies anyhowly put bubble tea pearls on other items, but how about companies anyhowly put other items on bubble tea?

Meet KOI, the company that lives in 2017 and thinks that Nasi Lemak everything is still a trend here in Singapore.

This, unfortunately, doesn’t seem to work as it has only a measly 12 shares.

Guess the Nasi Lemak trend is indeed over.
