It seems like the number of new cases have become rather predictable nowadays; not sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing, though.
Today, a total of 618 cases were announced.
This means we now have 12,693 cases in Singapore.
Of these, 7 are Singaporeans and Singapore PRs. Yesterday, that figure was 13.
Yes, finally, a single digit.
The others are mainly work permit workers residing in dormitories, and the reason for the high number is due to aggressive testing in dormitories by the authorities.
Pertaining to the average number of community cases, based on yesterday’s numbers, it has decreased from an average of 31 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 25 per day in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased, from an average of 20 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 17 per day in the past week.
9 out of 10 COVID-19 patients are now housed in isolation facilities instead of hospitals.
In addition, yesterday, 9 new clusters were discovered. They are
- Natureland East Coast spa at 907 East Coast Road
- The Strand Hotel at 25 Bencoolen Street
- Alaunia Lodge in Admiralty
- SSKBJV Dormitory in Tanah Merah
- Westlite Juniper dormitory in Mandai Estate
- 112 Neythal Road

New York Antibody Test Shows More People Might Have COVID-19 Without Knowing About It
The shocking news today comes from New York, the city with the most number of cases in the US.

You see, when someone is infected with the coronavirus, he or she would fight the virus by creating antibodies in the body, and these antibodies would stay in the body (hopefully lah, at least that’s the case for other viruses) so that if the coronavirus comes again, the body would know how to defend against it.
The city randomly tested 3,000 people for these antibodies surprisingly, 14% of them tested positive for those antibodies.
This meant that in theory, the number of people who might have caught the virus in the city could have been 2.7 million instead of 263k.
And that’d mean many people have been infected and recovered—without anyone knowing.
Of course, this is all theory and the Governor of New York has said that it might not be accurate and the sample size is too small.
Moreover, reports of South Koreans getting infected again show that antibodies might not build an immunity.
Everything’s all too new, so just stay at home and keep yourself updated.
