If you’ve ever followed or stanned any boy or girl group before, you’ll know that there can be fans who favour one member over the others. It is an inevitability to have one member being way more popular than the rest.
Given this, it isn’t surprising to hear Van Ness Wu admit that the F4 members did not have a good relationship during their disbandment.
Wu and Yan Reminisced About The Good (And Bad) Old Days
Wu and bandmate Jerry Yan appeared on the latest episode of Chinese talk show Welcome Back To Sound, where they talked about the good old days and the bad parts that came with it.
The other two members of F4, Ken Chu and Vic Chou, did not appear.
Wu revealed that there were feelings of jealousy and unfairness amongst the group, and they did not really have a sense of security nor trusted each other much.
He also admitted that he felt relieved when the band split up as he thought “it was time”, and because they were “not particularly happy in the end”.
What Happened Since Meteor Garden?
If you don’t remember, F4 was brought together as a band in 2001 after starring in the iconic Taiwanese series Meteor Garden. Their last album release was in 2007 with Waiting For You.
The last time they have performed together as a group was in early 2013, when they performed at Jiangsu TV’s Spring Festival in China. They had hinted at a concert tour then, but it did not come to fruition.
OK, they technically performed together for a show on China’s Jiangsu Television in late October 2020. But Yan, Chou and Chu were actually projected on stage through virtual technology, and only Wu was really there on stage.

But just because they were unhappy then, does not mean they’re enemies now.
In fact, it was revealed on the talk show that the four members had all met up at Wu’s place around four years ago. F4 fans can rest assured that there isn’t any bad blood between them.
Wu and Yan also recorded and sent Chou a Chinese New Year greeting.
BTW, as filming wrapped up, Yan said that he thinks this show had brought him closer to Wu. Proof that at least two of the members are still on better, if not good, terms with each other!
