Witness Accounts
Madam Heng Mew Hong, a 52-year-old bus driver who lives on the fourth floor, recounted that her 30-year-old son had called her at around 7:15pm.
He sounded panicked on the phone as he told her that there was a man covered in blood, knocking on the door and asking for help.
Her son had been alone at home then.
Madam Heng promptly rushed home, fearing for the lives of her son and nephew, who was living with them.
Upon reaching her unit, she saw that the corridor was covered in white sheets, with police officers milling about.
The Straits Times reporters also saw police officers collecting items from a fifth-floor unit.
Additionally, there were blood stains on the stairs between the fifth and fourth floor, and along the fourth-floor corridor.
