The coronavirus situation in Singapore went from 10 to 100 real quick. What do I mean?
Very suddenly, PM Lee announced that there would be a live announcement regarding the ever-evolving coronavirus situation and the major measures implemented to curb its spread.
And just like that, beginning 7 April, all stores will close down except for essential services like healthcare, hairdressers and restaurants.
If anything, it only goes to show how contagious the coronavirus is and how there is a desperate need to curb its spread.
Now, MOH has stepped forward to inform us that there is something else we can do to play a part, besides staying at home of course.
MOH Advising People to Keep Taxi Receipts for a Month for Contact Tracing
According to the Ministry of Health website, Singaporeans can play a part and help with COVID-19 contact tracing by keeping your taxi receipts for a month.
Yes, you read that right.
Amidst the coronavirus outbreak, don’t throw your taxi receipts away.
Commuters who take taxis are advised to ask for receipts and keep it for one month to help with contact tracing.
“In view of the evolving COVID-19 situation, we would like to advise commuters who take taxis to request for a receipt and retain it for a month to facilitate contact tracing if required. ”
The notice also explained that contact tracing of each coronavirus case is crucial to prevent the virus from spreading further.
Thus, if you or your driver gets infected with the coronavirus, these receipts can help the contact tracing team to get in touch with those affected fast in order to keep our loved ones safe.
“Should you or your driver become infected with the COVID-19 virus, these receipts would enable the contact tracing team to identify contacts expediently and keep your families, friends and our community safe. Let’s all do our part in the fight against COVID-19!”
