63 YO Man Allegedly Murdered In Ang Mo Kio Flat; 53YO Woman Arrested

A 63-year-old man was allegedly murdered by an elderly woman in Ang Mo Kio at Block 633 Ang Mo Kio. The incident happened on Sunday morning on 27 October 2019.

According to The Straits Times, a police spokesman said that the alleged murderer, a 53-year-old woman, was large-sized and around 1.75m tall.

These descriptions were provided by witnesses and the woman will be charged in court on Monday.

Case Classified As Murder

The case of unnatural death has been classified as murder and was reported to have happened at Block 633 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 at 5.46am.

Unfortunately, the man was found dead and paramedics who were at the scene pronounced him dead.

The Straits Times visited the scene at around 8.30am to find the stairs that lead up to the unit had been cordoned off by the police.

Additionally, they observed that the lift had a sign that said it was out of order. A police vehicle could be seen parked under the block.

Neighbours Said The Man And Woman Had Lived Together For Around Two Years

Neighbours told The Straits Times that the elderly man and the alleged suspect had been living together for around two years in their third-floor unit.

They have also been seen walking to the nearby hawker centre together holding hands. They also have a toddler and could be seen pushing a toddler around the area in a pram.

A 60-year-old resident named Mr Chen said he heard “drum-like banging” coming from the unit while he was about to go out for a run at 5am.

He added, “It was not like the throwing of things or furniture. It was a repeated thudding,” and when he came back from his run, the woman was in handcuffs at the void deck and was being taken away by the police.

The case is still being investigated by the police.
