When Joe Biden took the hot seat back in 2020, Kamala Harris also became the first female vice-president of the United States.
An author, former senator, attorney and all-around supermom, Harris was thought to have a bright future ahead of her.
But, well, about one year into her vice-presidency, it seems that things aren’t looking as rosy for her as some might’ve thought.
Friction Between Staff of Vice-President & President
On 15 Nov 2021, CNN produced a detailed article on the White House, detailing friction between Harris’s staff and Biden’s staff.
In Harris’s corner, her staff are unhappy that she is sidelined by the president’s staff.
She was not adequately prepared for unexpected situations and is being improperly positioned, they felt.
Meanwhile, Harris herself allegedly said to close confidants that she felt “very constrained” politically.
Meanwhile, people who’ve worked for Harris and Biden directly told CNN that they have allegedly settled into “an exhausted stalemate”, even though Harris said she has good working dynamics with the president.
It was also mentioned that Harris was often sent out on “losing assignments” that’ll sandbag her political career, including being sent to the Northern Triangle nations to handle diplomatic relations while not giving her a role on the Southern border.

Biden Reportedly Wanting to Remove Kamala Harris As Vice-President
On 17 Nov 2021, just two days after CNN’s article came out and ignited many conversations, a new rumour sprouted on the internet.
It was said that Joe Biden might remove Kamala Harris as vice-president by appointing her to the Supreme Court.
Fox News reporter Chad Pergram said that he received a “very cryptic email” from someone who knows the White House “very well”.
Apparently, he was told not only to prepare “for a confirmation process, just not in the senate but the house for a vice-president”.
Other than the alleged dysfunction, the popularity of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris has plunged in a poll conducted recently.
Biden’s result was at his lowest yet at 38% but Harris’s popularity was ten points lower than his at 28%.
“This means that the base of voters is draining away from her.”
With the reelection that’s going to take place in 2024, there is now a sense of urgency regarding Harris’s political career.
Meanwhile, Fox News Commentator Geraldo Rivera likened the relationship between the President and Vice-President as “a couple who has split but has to play nice in front of the children”.
As for whether this will come true, as of yet, these are only rumours so I guess you’d have to take a wait-and-see approach.
