A dog is a man’s best friend, but this dog isn’t best friend with this woman.
In a 10-minute video posted by Facebook user Zoe Hannah, a woman was spotted hitting a golden retriever with a broom at the balcony of her condominium several times, scolding and jabbing the defenceless dog.
And that didn’t appear to happen in one day: she was spotted in different clothes, which suggests that it’s not an isolated incident.
You can watch the video here, but be warned: It’s so disturbing, Facebook has flagged it as “sensitive”:
Initially, the Facebook user had little information about the location and as she has received the video via a private message, and the person who sent the video wanted to remain anonymous.
But through some CSI work, she managed to find out that it happened in Skypark Residences Condominium, which is located at Sembawang.
Shortly after that, SPCA posted an Instagram post to appeal for information about “the location and identity of the person in the video”.
This afternoon, it’s revealed that AVS has contacted the Facebook user, and said that investigations are ongoing. In addition, they now know the address of the abuser.
So far, the video has garnered over 322 shares.
Abuse Is Unacceptable: SPCA
In SPCA’s Instagram post to appeal for information, they added that “abusive behaviour towards the dog is unacceptable and should not be tolerated,” and urged “pet guardians to use humane, force free, rewards-focused training methods instead of resorting to physical punishments and / or acts of violence.”
