I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again:
Singapore’s fight against COVID-19 is effective primarily because of good governance (fight me) and because we’re rich.
I mean, back in the days when COVID-19 was still called the Wuhan virus, we once gave out 5.2 million masks to all households in Singapore.
And now, we’re going to give out hand sanitisers, because why not.
All S’pore Households to Receive a Free Hand Sanitiser
In yet another effort to fight the nasty bug that nearly took away our favourite caipng stalls, Singapore is now giving out 500ml hand sanitizer to every household.
This time, it’s given by Temasek Foundation but let’s face it lah: that is also considered Singapore. Same same but different.
It’s part of a initiative by Temasek Foundation, which is called Stay Prepared by the Temasek Emergency Preparedness Fund. The initiative is to help ready Singaporeans for emergencies like major accidents, natural disasters, pandemics, severe haze or terrorist attacks.
However, you’d have to bring your own bottle that’s up to 500ml.
All you need to do is to go to any community club from 23 Mar to 29 Mar or any one of CapitaLand’s 16 participating malls from 23 Mar to 5 Apr.
The malls are Bedok Mall, Bugis Junction, Bugis +, Bukit Panjang Plaza, Clarke Quay, Funan, IMM, JCube, Junction 8, Lot One Shoppers Mall, Plaza Singapura, Raffles City Singapore, SingPost Centre, Tampines Mall, Star Vista and Westgate.
But you can’t anyhowly just go and collect; there will be specific collection dates for different households, so wait for a pamphlet, which will be used to collect the free hand sanitiser, to arrive at your house first.
The goal?
According to Temasek chairman Lim Boon Heng, they hope that “this sanitiser will come in handy for all Singapore residents, for everyone to pick up the habit of washing or sanitising our hands regularly.”
The foundation also added that it is a water-based zero-alcohol solution that is not flammable, toxic or corrosive, so it won’t stain your clothes or irritate your skin.
Free masks, free hand sanitisers, free money, free treatment—I wonder what’s next.
Election is indeed coming.
