With a deadly pandemic, large-scale protests, and conflict between the world’s two biggest nations, bad news isn’t exactly in short supply these days.
In fact, it’s almost disingenuous to keep calling ourselves Goody Feed.
Boss: I already told you, no one will read articles on a website called Saddy Feed.
Ok, good point.
2020 continues to surprise us every day, introducing more depressing news even when we’ve already had our fill for the year.
Another K-Pop Celebrity Death Reported
The K-Pop world has been shocked by yet another death of a celebrity.
This time, it’s K-Pop idol Yohan from the pop band TST (formerly known as Top Secret).
The 28-year-old, whose real name is Kim Jeong-hwan, died yesterday (16 June), according to SPOTV News.
It’s unclear how the K-Pop star passed away because the family has requested not to reveal the cause of death to the public.
Yohan made his debut with the K-Pop band NOM and joined TST in 2017 as a vocalist when NOM disbanded.
TST’s label, KJ Music Entertainment issued a statement soon after his death. They urged the public not to speculate.
“We are sad to relay the most unfortunate, sorrowful news. Back on June 16, TST member Yohan left this world. The late Yohan’s family is currently in deep mourning. The family has pleaded that media articles about Yohan’s passing, such as those making speculations about the cause of his death, be refrained out of respect. We express our deepest condolences in light of Yohan’s final parting,” the statement said.
Just two weeks ago, the Yohan shared a post on Instagram with pictures of himself at different scenic places with the caption “I want to go travel.”

Celebrities and Fans React
Both celebrities and fans paid tribute to the K-pop star online, with many commenting on his last Instagram post.
Many others offered their condolences and called him an “angel”.
South Korean singer Lee Kiseop also wrote a comment on Yohan’s post, saying “I love you a lot, Yohan… I miss you.”
According to SPOTV, Yohan’s wake is being held at the Severance Hospital in Sinchon, Seoul.
His funeral will be held on Thursday (18 June), and he will be buried at the Yongin Catholic Park Cemetery.
Yohan celebrated his 28th birthday two months ago on 16 April.
It’s a shame he’ll never celebrate his 29th.
Problems with the South Korean Entertainment Industry
After the suicides of high-profile stars like Sulli, Goo Hara, and Cha In-Ha last year, many started questioning if there was a deeper problem with the Korean entertainment industry.
According to one South Korean journalist who has reported on 30 Korean celebrity suicides, suicide is a problem for “everyone in South Korean society.”
He may be on to something.
A 2017 report showed that suicide was the leading cause of death among young people in South Korea, reported The Korean Herald.

As for the demise of so many K-Pop stars, many have criticised South Korea’s entertainment industry for overworking their stars and using them as commodities to make money.
