Anything would probably go well with chocolate and candy.
And then someone throws in an idea and says “what about CHOCOLATE cannabis?”
And… that’s probably how the Central Narcotics Bureau officers found chocolate and candy believed to be infused with cannabis.
Cannabis, otherwise better known as “weed”, “pot” or “marijuana” are used by most people for pleasure and recreation.
In other words, for people to get “high”.
Guess the fun had to stop when the drug raid came.
4-Day Islandwide Raid
In the 4-day island-wide raid that took place between 21 October and 25 October, drugs consisting of 236g of new psychoactive substances, 99g of “Ice”, 34g of heroin, 30g of cannabis, 31 Erimin-5tablets, 10 “Ecstasy” tablets and a small amount of ketamine were seized.
Along with the drugs, 138 suspected drug offenders were also arrested.
Areas covered include Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Choa Chu Kang, Hougang, Punggol, Sengkang and Serangoon.
Chocolate And Strawberry Taffies Suspected To Be Infused With Cannabis Surrendered
A suspected drug abuser was arrested within her residential unit near Choa Chu Kang Loop during one of the raids on 23 October.
The 25-year-old suspect surrendered a packet of about 7g of vegetable matter, believed to contain cannabis to CNB Officers.
Along with that, a number of drug-taking utensils, a packet of chocolate and two strawberry taffies that were believed to have been infused with weed were also surrendered.
Suspected Drug Trafficker Arrested
In another case, CNB officers arrested a suspected 22-year-old drug trafficker at his residential unit near Hong San Walk.
The Singapore Permanent Resident surrendered a packet of about 12g of vegetable matter, believed to contain pot and a packet of about 20g of vegetable matter mixed with tobacco.
Along with all that, CNB officers also found a digital weighing scale that was probably used as a drug measuring tool in addition to an e-cigarette believed to have been infused with weed.
Illegal To Bring Any Product Containing Cannabis
Although a number of places have legalised weed, it remains a crime in Singapore to bring any product containing weed, regardless of the amount.
Cannabis is a Class A controlled drug listed under Singapore’s Misuse of Drugs Act.
Even though Cannabis has been used to treat ailments and to relieve pain for some people, it remains as a relatively dangerous drug. CNB emphasises that there has been little evidence of the safety and efficacy of long-term cannabis use.
Not only can it be addictive, it also damages the brain. According to CNB, the Institute of Mental Health has affirmed the addictive and harmful nature of cannabis.
On that note, stay away from drugs kids.
