I’ve always had a seemingly irrational fear of fans.
I would lie on my sofa and stare up at my ceiling fan and have this fear that the blades would magically come off and fly at me.
I guess my fear wasn’t so irrational after all.
Everything About the Elmark Ceiling Fan Recall in S’pore
See that ceiling fan you have sitting in your house?
Yeah, that could possibly become a dangerous weapon, especially if it belongs to one of the 17 models by Elmark Marketing.
More than 500 units of ceiling fans from 17 models by Elmark Marketing are being recalled due to checks showing that they could pose safety problems.
Safety Problems
According to product safety agency Enterprise Singapore yesterday, the “safety problems” that they’re talking about includes the fan falling, electrocuting someone or causing a fire.
In fact, my biggest fear has become a reality.
The fan blades could come loose while it’s in use and fly at you like a boomerang cause cuts.
Now if you’re wondering why this has suddenly only just come to light.
Don’t worry, no reports of injuries have actually been made, but Enterprise Singapore decided to investigate after an Elmark fan blade broke while it was in use.
Hence, further checks were made and the potential dangers were discovered.
