If I received a dollar every time the Temasek Foundation gave out free masks to Singaporeans, I might have enough to eat a plate of chicken rice at Loy Kee.
Ever since the coronavirus emerged in 2020, the foundation has carried out several mass distribution drives for masks and hand sanitiser. Heck, they’ve been given out oximeters, some of which found their way to Carousell.
Through these drives, we’ve received various kinds of reusable masks, some better than others.
Now, we’re getting yet another free reusable mask from the foundation, and it’ll be even more breathable.
Everything About the New Free Reusable Masks That Are More Breathable
Each Singapore resident will receive one MaskPure™ AIR+ reusable mask from the Temasek Foundation in its latest mask distribution exercise.
The foundation said in a news release that this is part of its Stay Prepare initiative to help residents stay safe as we move towards Covid-19 resilience.
“Face masks remain an important layer of defence to keeping individuals and the community safe, as we progressively resume our social and economic activities, while living with COVID-19,” it said.
According to the release, the antimicrobial mask has an N95 filtration middle layer with a Particle Filtration Efficiency (PFE) of more than 95%.
What’s more, it will remain effective at that PFE for up to 30 weeks when rinsed weekly.
It is also more breathable than standard N95 filters, and remains breathable even after repeated rinsing.
Nice.

Collection to Run for 13 Days in January
Collecting the masks is as easy as it’s been in the past.
Simply head to a #StayMasked vending machine near you and bring along a government-issued ID. Alternatively, you could just key in your ID number into the machine.
Almost 1,000 machines can be found across the country, located conveniently in community centres/clubs, Residents’ Committee centres, selected bus interchanges, and selected recreation centres for migrant workers.
You can also find these vending machines in Plaza Singapura and Temasek Shophouse, which are near Dhoby Ghaut MRT.
Do note that collection will only go on for 13 days—from 10am on 10 Jan to 11:59pm on 23 Jan. But the foundation said that there’s no need to rush, reassuring residents that there’s sufficient stock of masks for everyone.
“To avoid crowds, residents may wish to collect after Wednesday 13 January 2022, or during non-peak hours,” it added
