A young offender deemed as ‘deviant‘ sexually abused four girls and raped a fifth while he was on probation for previous sexual offences.
A Repeated Offender
Previously, Ashahann had been sentenced to two years’ probation in February 2017 for two counts of molesting a 12-year-old girl and two counts of sexual penetration of a 14-year-old girl.
A short week after being sentenced to probation in February 2018, Ashahann who was 17 years old at the time stumbled upon a 15-year-old girls’ profile on Instagram and contacted her.
He met up with her in early March 2017 and later they suggested that they head to his house.
According to the prosecution, he had unprotected sex with the victim who hoped that he would be her boyfriend.
A Second Victim
The same month, Ashahann met another 15-year-old girl whom he met playing street soccer in the neighbourhood.
The girl went to Ashahann’s home while nobody was at home. He tried to take off her pants and she pushed his hands away.
She said that she didn’t want to have sex with him.
However, Ashahann pressed on and did it anyway.
The victim told him again that she didn’t want to have sex because she was having her period.
Ashahann finally stopped after he wasn’t able to convince her.

Encouraged Relative To Have Sex With His Girlfriend
He also preyed on two other girls in March 2017 which included his relative’s 12-year-old friend and his relative’s girlfriend.
Both were minors.
While the 12-year-old friend was at Ashahann’s home, he had sex with the 12-year-old girl “with her consent” according to court documents.
While this happened, Ashahann’s relative was trying to have sex with his girlfriend for the first time after receiving encouragement from Ashahann.
Ashahann even went on to show them how to have sex and penetrated his relative’s girlfriend with his finger.
It got worse a year later.
Rape Offences In March 2018
He got to know his victim, a 16-year-old girl in 2018 in school before he dropped out.
He invited her to his condominium to do homework by the swimming pool. The victim wore a swimsuit under her clothes and went to his condo at around 1.30pm on 17 March 2018.
She had no intentions to swim as she was menstruating. After the girl completed some of her homework, he brought her to a toilet for the disabled near the pool.
When the victim realised where they were going she became alarmed and stepped away from him as she realised he wanted sex.
She told him that she didn’t want to follow him but instead of listening to her Ashahann dragged her to the toilet.
She struggled but he was stronger and she began to cry and told him again and again that she didn’t want to follow him.
However, he ignored her and carried her to the toilet where he forced her to perform a sex act on him before raping her.
He then washed the blood and semen away before forcing himself on her and raped her a second time.
After the ordeal, she told her friends that she had suicidal thoughts. Together, they filed a police report the very next day.
Penalty
Ashahann pleaded guilty on Monday to one charge of rape and three charges of sexual penetration. Another six charges were taken into consideration.

A psychiatrist told the court that Muhammad Ashann Hairudin had displayed “deviant sexual behaviour” in choosing young adolescent females but did not have a mental disorder.
20-year-old Ashahann was sentenced on Monday to 12 years’ jail and six strokes of the cane. This imprisonment term is longer than the minimum 10 years’ jail asked for by the prosecution.
