Tim Hortons Makes Its Grand Debut at VivoCity Singapore with Exclusive Promotions
Are you excited for another grand opening?
If you’re a fan of either ice hockey or coffee, the legendary Tim Horton’s name is probably already familiar to you.
In 1964, this National Hockey League legend opened his first coffee store in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
His cosy coffee and donut shop in the neighbourhood was designed to be a welcoming place for neighbours to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee.
Nearly 60 years later, this humble coffee store has grown into Canada’s No. 1 Coffee House. It has expanded to nearly 5,000 stores in North America, 29 in the Middle East, and 25 stores in the UK since 2018.
Now, Timmie’s is finally here in Singapore!
The first-ever Tim Hortons is set to open this Friday, 17 Nov, at 10am in VivoCity.
Many Canadians in Singapore are excited, as they share about what they can’t wait to order from the taste of home on Tim Hortons Singapore’s Facebook page.
Tim Hortons VivoCity will feature the brand’s new design concept, incorporating warm tones and organic shapes. It draws inspiration from the natural beauty of Canadian landscapes and wildlife, as well as the timeless grandeur of old maple trees.
Very Canadian indeed.
Following the VivoCity launch, Tim Hortons will also open outlets in Nex, One Raffles Place, and Suntec City in the coming months, with more than ten outlets opened by the end of 2024.
Timmie’s really storming through Singapore in a flash.
So, What’s Brewing?
Tim Hortons, with over 50 years of coffee expertise, maintains high standards in brewing. The renowned brand uses only 100% Premium Arabica Beans, responsibly sourced from renowned coffee regions across Latin America, Africa, and Asia Pacific.
Tim Horton’s signature coffee blends are expertly crafted by Coffee Masters and roasted in individual batches by Roast Masters, ensuring the highest quality and consistency in every cup.
A standout drink at Tim Hortons is the “Double Double,” a Canadian classic cream coffee, so iconic it was added to the Canadian Oxford dictionary in 2004.
Come Tim Hortons lah: A Singapore Rendition
With its fresh debut in Singapore, the menu will feature a range of premium beverages, from signature blends to flavored lattes, including local favorites like Matcha Latte, Chai Latte, and Iced Capps.
The food menu perfectly complements these beverages, offering made-to-order sourdough melts like the Truffle Mushroom Melt and Pesto Chicken and Mozzarella Melt.
Of course, we can’t forget about the famous Tim Horton donuts. You can enjoy the fresh-dipped donuts along with the fan-favorite, Timbits in the three iconic flavours: Classic Glaze, Cinnamon Sugar and Birthday Cake. A real treat for those with a sweet tooth!
Vaibhav Punh, CEO of Tim Hortons, recognising Singaporeans’ love for coffee, stated, “We are confident that Tim Hortons’ signature coffee blends, freshly prepared food, and the new warm cafe design will exceed our guests’ expectations.”
With the Singapore launch, Tim Hortons is also preparing to expand into Malaysia and Indonesia in the coming years.
Tim Hortons has had mergers with Burger King and Wendy’s but regained independence after surpassing McDonald’s as Canada’s largest food service operator in 2005.
Currently, Tim Hortons is part of Restaurant Brands International Inc. (RBI), which also owns Burger King, Popeyes, and Firehouse Subs.
The Tim Hortons donut craze took off after Tim’s best friend and business partner, Ron Joyce, joined the business. Since then, many independent donut shops and small chains have been driven out of business.
Interestingly, the partnership extended to their families, with Ron’s son and Horton’s eldest daughter marrying and becoming joint owners of the Tim Hortons franchises until this year.
To prepare for its market entry in Singapore and the broader Asia Pacific region, Tim Hortons has partnered with Marubeni, a major Japanese integrated trading and investment business conglomerate.
