We’ve all forgotten to register for something. Whether it’s spin classes, examinations, or in extreme cases, university (yikes), forgetting to do something important is all part-and-parcel of life.
Malaysian singer Fish Leong, whose career took off after her 2000 album Courage, actually forgot to register for the Golden Melody Awards 2022.
Last year, Leong released The Sonnet of Three Days, which received high praise from music critics. Her fans had hoped that she would finally secure her Golden Melody win in the category “Best Female Vocalist – Mandarin” after 6 past nominations without a win.
However, Leong did not register this year at all.
“I was so focused on preparing for my new album and living a good life that I forgot about the date of registration,” she explained.
Leong really does lead a busy life. She’s been posting about her cooking hobby on her Instagram, where she whips up food from all cuisines, as well as delicious desserts.
Additionally, after two lengthy years of pandemic restrictions, Leong can at long last return to her hometown in Malaysia to visit her parents.
Her fans shouldn’t be disappointed, though – Leong hinted that new music may be released this year, on top of her February concert in Taiwan.
So I guess missing her won’t be a breathing pain.
